Resetting a week's schedule

Resetting a week clears all unpublished shifts for that week so you can start fresh and re-select scenarios. This article explains who can reset a week, when it's blocked, and what happens to your unpublished changes.

Requirements

  • You need Manage rights for your own teams and other teams on the schedule. Without them, the Reset week option won't appear. This is to prevent accidentally deleting draft shifts of other teams. Still want to reset a week, ask for more permissions from your manager or ask them to do it.

  • You cannot reset a week that has already passed. The button is disabled for past weeks.

What resetting does

Resetting deletes every shift in the current week, so the week closes again and you can re-select scenarios.

Any unpublished changes, like draft edits and shifts marked as open that you haven't published yet, are permanently deleted. This is work you'll lose, so be sure to double check and confirm before you do this.

Steps to reset a week

1. Open the schedule and navigate to the week you want to reset.

2. Open the 'more options' menu ( three dots button on top right)

3. Select 'Reset week'.

4. A confirmation window appears, read the summary, then confirm.

Potential outcomes

You are able to reset

You are able to reset when you have no published shifts. The confirmation window will show you the count of unpublished changes you will lose (for example "8 unpublished changes will be removed").

You confirm by pressing the button "Remove 8 unpublished changes and reset week" (or "Reset week" if there are no ). Confirm → week is cleared, closes again, you can select scenarios again.

You are blocked from resetting

You are blocked from resetteing when you have published shifts with employees assigned. The confirmation window shows "You have 12 published shifts. You must remove these before you can reset the week." Remove employees from published shifts and publish the removal, then retry.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I reset? I already removed employees?

Removing someone from a published shift only takes effect once you publish that change. Until the removal is published, the person is still scheduled, so the week stays blocked.

Can I undo a reset?

No. Resetting permanently deletes the week's shifts and unpublished changes.

Why is "Reset week" greyed out?

Either you're viewing a past week, or you don't have the rights to reset a week (you need to have 'create schedule' rights for own teams and other teams)
