How holiday pay works
In Soigné there are multiple ways to pay vacation allowance (also called holiday pay, holiday allowance or vakantiegeld in Dutch):
On-call contracts get their vacation allowance paid out monthly by default. This is a default setting which can't be changed. They are entitled to 8,85% of their gross wage as vacation allowance each month. So when someone ears € 15 / hour, they will get an additional € 1,33 / hour on top of it. Read more about why it's 8,85% instead of 8% here.
By default fixed hour contracts get paid out 8% of vacation allowance once a year in May.
Fixed hour contracts can get paid monthly as well if you want. You can also give the employee to option to choose themselves; monthly or yearly. You can adjust these settings in Settings > pick a location > Pay:
How to check vacation allowance balance as an employee
As employee you will get a PDF payslip every month that you can see in the Soigné app under Menu > Documents > Payslips. At the bottom of the payslip you can see your current vacation allowance balance:

I got the feeling the vacation allowance balance is wrong
When you switch to Soigné we import the previous vacation allowance balance from your old salary administration system (Nmbrs, AFAS, Loket, Exact, etc). First check your previous system what the balance of your employee was there. Or ask your previous salary administrator.
It could be that someone switched from a fixed contract to an on-call contract or the other way around and still had some balance. It could also be that someone got paid a part of their balance in the past. There are plenty reasons why a balance that you forgot was in the system.
Did you check the previous balance and are still sure the balance in Soigné is wrong, then get in touch with Soigné support.
