To add commuting allowance for an employee, go to their profile > Pay > Recurring benefit.
Open the benefits sidebar, select Commuting. Here you can choose a commuting allowance per kilometer, per day or monthly.
Make sure you set the start date to the first day of the period you want to start paying the commuting allowance for. If you set the start date to half way during the month, it could be that the employee only gets part of their commuting allowance if it's a monthly allowance.
Commuting allowance per kilometer
Soigné takes the kilometers per day and multiplies that by the default tax free commuting allowance per kilometer decided by the government. Which is €0,25 cents in 2026. Make sure you calculate the total kilometer per day; going to work and going back home.
Commuting allowance per day
Soigné looks at the number of days worked and multiplies them by the daily commuting amount you added for the employee. Make sure you add the days worked for these employees under Pay when you pay them, so Soigné knows how much daily allowance to give. If you use Soigné scheduling this is automated and the approved days worked are counted. Make sure the hours of your employee are approved, otherwise they won't count.
Commuting allowance per month
Soigné takes the fixed monthly allowance amount.
If you only want to give a one time fixed commuting allowance you can pick the monthly commuting allowance type, set the start date to the first day of the period you want to give this one time commuting allowance in and specify the end date on the last day of that month. This way that fixed amount will only be applied once. If you want to give the same amount every month then don't specify an end date but set it to Indefinite.
You are not able to edit commuting allowances that have already been paid out. If you want to change a current commuting allowance, then make sure to end the current one first and create a new one.
